Exploring Architecture: American Craftsmanship from Louis C. Tiffany
This will be a virtual meeting via Zoom
Tuesday 10 December 2024
4 PM to 5 PM Eastern
Why are we meeting?
We hosted a meeting on one of the most important + influential American Arts & Crafts guilds earlier this year. We’re meeting to discuss the work of Louis C. Tiffany and his contemporaries as a continuation and compliment to our earlier discussion.
Tiffany is appreciated for his talents in the decorative arts, particularly stained glass. He designed stained glass windows and lamps, glass mosaics, blown glass, ceramics, jewelry, enamels, and metalwork.
The work of Tiffany and the lead craftspeople with whom he worked can be found internationally. We’ll review examples you can visit to study firsthand. We’ll also discuss some of the challenge Tiffany encountered in the course of his life and work.
We hold frequent meetings so we have an opportunity to check in with you. We welcome your off-topic questions… related to architecture. Got something you’re trying to figure out? Let us help!
