How to Prepare for New Electrical Code Requirements in Your Home

This will be a virtual meeting via Zoom

Tuesday 12 November 2024

4 PM to 5 PM Eastern

Why are we meeting?
The State of Georgia has just adopted a new electrical code - the 2023 National Electrical Code from the National Fire Protection Association. We’re meeting to discuss some of the new provisions. Join us to learn:

  • What is the 2023 National Electrical Code

  • Where you can find a free copy of the 2023 National Electrical Code

  • When will the new electrical code become effective in Georgia

  • How will new provisions in the electrical code affect homeowners

  • Will existing homes have to be brought up to current code requirement

Changes to the requirements for outlets in kitchens, particularly kitchen islands + peninsulas, will likely be the most impactful changes. In short, we’re not going to be allowed to place outlets where we have previously.

We’ll give you an update on these provisions plus other new provisions like required protection of whole-house batteries in garage spaces. We welcome your questions in advance via our Contact page.

We hold frequent meetings so we have an opportunity to check in with you. We welcome your off-topic questions… related to architecture. Got something you’re trying to figure out? Let us help!
